Japan to showcase its traditional crafts in largest trade fair for consumer goods in Germany

Traditional crafts of Japan will be exhibited in the international trade fair for consumer goods from February 10 to 14 in Frankfurt, Germany. Dubbed as Ambiente 2017, it is said to be the world’s largest business-to-business trade event for consumer goods.

Japanese crafts have been in history for over 100 years and have come from the very unique culture of the country. At present, their traditional crafts have been integrating new elements that are sought-out internationally, in terms of quality and design aesthetics, and are not constrained by conventions, thus providing beauty to modern lifestyle.

Japan also intends to attract diverse international visitors to “DENSAN,” a brand in the country representing its traditional crafts incorporated with new design trends whose goal is to encourage everyone to incorporate such brand’s identity in a broad mix of cultures.

The Association for the Promotion of Traditional Craft Industries, with support from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, will showcase the traditional crafts of Japan and represent the country as high-tech manufacturing haven for cultivation of global markets and development of new businesses.
